Sport Cup ZP vs non ZP for track days

Sport Cup ZP vs non ZP for track days
I know there is a ton of threads on ZP tires vs non ZP. I've managed to burn through my third set of front tires on my 2017 Z06 in under 11k miles due to tracking. I switched to the Sport Cup 2s at 7700 miles all around and absolutely love them. I'm considering non run flats for the next set and I'm curious on feedback for anyone who tracks their car and made the switch. Mostly I'm interested in the following:
1) Did you notice any performance differences, specifically lap times and lateral grip?
2) How did they wear different?
3) What size did you switch to?
I seem to remember that the ZPs are shaved and have less depth. Is that true?

Your answer is wrong.
The question is: What do you expect from the tire
Today there are very big differences from type to type
Incidentally, the Cup2 ZP is the fastest road-legal tire

ZP tires have stiffer sidewalls. Stiffer sidewalls make for better response on turn in at the track.

Chevy and Michelin did a great job designing these tires. They used the stiffness of the RF to put more tread on the ground. The front 285/301/19 has 11.1” of tread on the ground. This is closer to equivalent to a 305 wide tire. With more tread on the ground obviously there is more grip.

I checked with Michelin and in March they are supposed to release a non ZP Sport Cup 2 for the Z06 and Grand Sport. It will only have a 6 32nds tread depth which is just slightly more than the 5.7 the ZP has. Most the other Sport Cup 2 sizes have 7.2 32nds of an inch of tread.
I'd love to get a little more life out of the tires.

Otherwise.
Can you fit a cheaper tire on the stock wheels? 325/30r20 and 295/30r19 r888rs come out to 1350 at simpletire.
