I know, C5 Tech. Search shows that this question was previously asked in C5 Tech and summarily ignored.

The new LS3 has a CR of 11.5. Still have the original stock starter, so I figured I would refresh that while I am replacing everything else. Tried to replace with a Powermaster 9009. Quick measurement shows it obviously will not fit; not without bending up the headers. The Powermaster 9509 appears to be shorter (lengthwise) than the stock starter, and may fit. I am not hung up on Powermaster. If folks with LG Long Tubes have done something else with a moderately higher CR engine, please share. Thanks.

I use Powermaster PowerMAX Starters 9109. Headers, but not LG. It's c5, ls3, and 11.3 :1. It has no problem flipping it over. Also wrapped it with a heat blanket.
