I'll be watching as always. Ford's have their icon liveries on, so be prepared for a little "edge" granted to them, just like when Porsche had the pig...off they went into the lead...lol. We'll see. I think Corvette gonna have to be mighty savvy to pull it off.

The rules are less stupid this year, so hopefully things even out a little (no more mandatory pit stops at 14 laps, possibility of real full course yellows).

I normally catch about 20 of the 24, but have some responsibilities this weekend, so will miss a decent part of it. I'll have an eye on Timing and Scoring as much as I can at least....

Oh man...thank god they ditched that deal on the pit stops...that was just predetermined racing there. Corvette loses pitt strategy, they're definitely doomed with the way things often fall.

Are we going to have to jump between two tv channels and a web stream to watch all 24 this year?

Free Practice 1 is over. Corvettes in P10 (#63) and P15(#64). Session was wet for a little over an hour, but was dry at the beginning and end.

I wouldn't read much into this, times will come down tonight in the first qualifying session quite a bit. Most teams set their fast laps right at the end, but the Corvette's set theirs at the beginning, so they were on a different testing plan.

1 Porsche 3:52.149
2 Porsche 3:52.464
3 Ferrari 3:52.753
4 Ford
5 Ferari
6 BMW
10 Corvette 3:53.343
15 Corvette 3:54.198

First qualifying session over. Corvette's sit P11 (#63) and P13 (#64)

Garcia actually set the fastest lap of the session but it was dissalowed due to improving a time with a yellow somewhere, so their times should improve

1 Ford 3:49.540
2. Porsche 3:49.558
3. Aston 3:50.037
4 Porsche
5 Porsche
6 Porsche
11 Corvette 3:52.109
13 Corvette 3:52.490

I'm preparing for a Ford blowout...icon liveries folks...icon liveries....Ford greased many palms for this weekend...lol. They need the best chance for this marketing opportunity so...I say it's Fords race to lose.

There are, I only listed the top 6 and the Corvettes, not all 17 cars. The other Fords are at P10, P15, P17

Could be. They were given more weight but also more boost in the BoP change from last year, so hard to tell where they will be, but I imagine a little faster. Porsche (who qualified first and won the race) was also given a minuscule weight break (2KG), so they should be a smidge faster than last year. Could be a Ford/Porsche battle. If track stays dry tonight we may see some good representative times.

FGT's are definitely aero efficient, so they add a little weight, cost them a little braking zone and mid-turn speed but they'll be fast from the middle to end of straights...and at Lemans...that's gonna add up big. I can't help but forget in what, 2017, FGT vs Ferrari...left the field in the dust...a bit too story book if you ask me. Now with these icon liveries, maybe we have a setup for a Ford/Porsche but...I'm hoping for a little rain, some yellows and some pit strategy to get the old underdog Corvettes through it. Can't deny the FGT is a hell of a purpose built design...can't wait to at least see the mid engine Corvette gain some of that aero efficiency....seems to really pay in dividends when running a fuel conserve strategy.

End of the second qualifying session. We might see some better times tonight, but at least some of the cars/teams were pushing for a time today. Porsche still a bit back from their crazy fast qualifying time from last year, so we'll see how far they push. Note that the 4 Porsches are all in the top 7 which is not surprising with their tiny break over last year's solid performance.

Corvettes sit P2 (#63/Garcia) and P12 (#64/Milner)

1 Porsche 3:49.388
2 Corvette 3:49.424
3 Ford 3:49.530
4 Porsche 3:49.588
5 Porsche
6 Aston
7 Porsche
12 Corvette 3:51.011

Ford's discontinuing factory GT program maybe a factor in the increased entries. Will the GT enter GTD next year. Hopefully the BOP won't hurt the Corvette or cause a boring race.

Ford has run all 4 cars in Le Mans since they returned. The only difference is the one GTE-AM entry. It's not a GT3 car, so it can't be in GTD.

Bunch of really fast times to start the night session -- until the BMW hit a wall. We'll see who goes on a new qualifying lap again, but GTE-PRO looks very different than it did an hour ago.

I think the only option is for a private team to continue to campaign the GT without direct Ford sponsorship/support. I think Ganassi is looking to see what Ford will do, in terms of a DPi entry, but I assume they want to continue...just going to come down to funds and sponsors. Prob gonna need a big fish to step in.
