Default Need advice c5z startup after 1 year

I was going to hold the accel down (prevents start) until I get good steady oil pressure plus a few seconds & then let it rip. Anything else?

Honestly, that action alone is being pretty generous, all things considered. You have many here that do less. Having had a few shops over the years, and have had many cars sit, extended timeframes...some fresh builds, that's the main action to take...make sure it's pre-lubed and fire it up.

unless you have an accusump etc to prelube, you plan sounds fine to me. Get some fresh fuel ASAP. Modern cars are pretty forgiving for storage.....often see brand new cars sit on lots for over a year

Froggy, as David said, you might give consideration to the fuel if very old. I just drained some old fluid out of mine by popping the fuel pump solenoid out (fuse panel), take off the cover and stick a shim of paper under the contacts. Put it back in, remove the shrader valve stem with a tire valve tool and stick a piece of clear tubing from Lowe's over it. Stick it into a gas can and turn the ignition to 'on', not 'run' of course.

If it runs bad, I'll dump the fuel, I "heard" premium has a better shelf life, so maybe ok.

Fuel pump is in the tank so I am not clear on your procedure, also two tanks with a crossover pipe. Bit of a deal to access, not like my 02 Suburban (video up on replacing FP)

In general, after long storage I'll pull the plugs, put in a squirt of oil in each cylinder, pull the fuel pump fuse, crank the motor w/o the plugs (for zero compression) until there is oil pressure, reinstall the plugs and fire it up.

I thought I was the only one who did that.
Maybe overkill, but I figure there may be slight oxidation on the cylinder walls, and a sheen of oil + cranking the engine over a few times won't hurt.

Froggy, I'll bet I wasn't clear on where to access the shrader valve. Sorry 'bout that. On top of the intake on the end of the fuel rail. PM me if I still am not very clear.
