How to Adjust Koni Shocks for More Less Oversteer?
Have a FE1 96 Coupe with 30/26 OEM sway bars, 275's all the way around, GW bushings, and Koni Yellow shocks.
I've had the alignment set up to -1 and -.7 camber front and rear with 1/32 toe in on both, 7.6 caster.
I've changed my alignment since last year from -1.1 and -.8 and stiffened the shocks to half stiff/soft.
I'm now experiencing a tail happy car on a roadracing track.
Simple question: do I stiffen the front to lessen the oversteer or do I soften the front? I used to run them full soft and not worry about it-car felt quite good, but this year want a bit more competitive edge. :)
Thanks

Or, reduce the roll resistance in the rear....or, there are several other things you can do, but if you're interested on only one of the variables, then the answer above will work. I hope this is what you are seeking.

Some time in the future, you should consider running a larger rear tire. Your shocks, and even alignment, can help, but coming out of corners, you will likely continue to experience throttle-induced oversteer running the same size tires front and rear.

Run the fronts at full stiff. Adjust the rear shocks accordingly to your driving preference. I'd start at the halfway point and work towards neutral ... if that is your goal.
You'll also get response out of tire pressures. Running staggered tire pressures will also decrease oversteer.

I agree with a larger rear tire is better, but my situation is such that I will remain with 9.5's and 275's.
I'm sold on Nittos (only available in 275/17) so figure the gain in running those outweighs normal street radials in the 275/315 size.
Anyhow, thanks for all the responses. I will learn to be more 'responsible' on the throttle-:D
