Default Lets try the spindle duct question again

I don't know what happened in the other post???

I bought LG spindle ducts and am in the process of putting them on, I routed a 4" flex hose from the existing duct to the LG spindle duct and while it looks good as soon as I turn the wheel it crushes the duct, is the Doug Rippie duct the only alternative I have or is there another route I can take

use search... but anyway,
--You WILL crush the hose. Especially if you try and run it from the original duct outlet. DRM has a nice piece but it will still rub if not positioned correctly or if really wide tires are used.
--West Coast Corvettes has a set, but they are more expensive than DRM and i have "heard" they still rub.
--A few people have tried home made stuff but the biggest you can position is about a 2.5".

So far those are the only options. I personally run 3" DRM + LG spindles + custom 2.5" to caliper.

If you find another way please let us know.

Thanks, I just ordered the DRM ducts to use with the LG spindle ducts.

I was looking at the setup before I put the tire/wheel on and knew something wasn't right.

I couldn't picture what you wanted to do and now realize that you just have the LGM spindle ducts and not the DRM ducts. Yeah.. The DRM ducts with the LGM spindle ducts are the way to go.

If you carefully trim away some material behind the DRM ducts in the wheel well area, you should be able to get them in tight enough, so they don't rub. Mine just barely rub at full lock. It's nothing really. I wouldn't have known it unless I got under there and saw the faint rub line from the wheel on the duct.

Actually the DRM stuff is 3", the LG stuff is 2.5".
So customization (bastardization) is in order to get the two halves of this project together.
When I did mine, I had a phone conversation with someone @ DRM that said "we did the plastic, Lou did the aluminium".
You would think if two contractors were building a bridge, each starting from opposite sides of the bay, they could meet in the center with similar dimensions of product.

Good Luck getting the DRM to fit your front duct without some bastardization (self tappers/tape/etc.) as well.

What A Soup Sam-mich!

OBTW, mine doesn't rub (but I haven't had my 9.5" rims on yet either).

The ducts from LG are 3", so the 2.5" stuff must be an early product

I had the first set last year and it was 3". I think they are all 3" unless LG changed some.

I have the DRM ducts and the LG spindle ducts installed - haven't been to the track yet, but I have driven around alot on the street and haven't had any issues with them rubbing or falling off/etc.

I'm going to the track Sept 11-12 at motorsports ranch so hopefully I will have some news about them after that.
