I think the op is saying that the car is black with a red interior. Some pics would clarify. Sounds nice!

Is it # matching, or NOM? I think the only color that came in leather for interior in 63 was the TAN. But leather would be a good up grade. Post pic.

I see the color name in the OP has been updated, so we're all correct!

No '63 rolled off the line with Knock Offs/Bolt Ons.
The only interior color available in leather for '63s was Tan.
Note: Even though some cars had the "Leather" option, the only thing in leather were the seats.

Actually... if memory serves me correctly ... they did roll off the line with knock-offs, but the Mexican made wheels were porous and some of the tires went flat at the St. Louis plant parking lot. They were later available over the counter from GM parts dealers.

JohnZ knows much more about this than I do...

John, there is a rumor floating around that one or maybe more 1963's were shipped from the factory with knock-off wheels.

Default Question : RE Factory Knock-Off's

If the truth be known , and there were no 63's shipped from the factory , w/ factory knock-off's ,

Then how do we explain the photo's of ""Harley Earl's "" 63 Stingray , w // Factory Knock-off's .???????

As far as I know,no 63s were delivered with factory-installed knock-offs (P48) wheels. However, the P48s were available later in the '63 production year and were purchased over-the-counter at Chevy dealerships.

As in the case of many, many year Corvettes, the existence of a special "styling car" or some other one-off or ridiculously low issue oddity does not make the production cars any more correct with those items. Whether one GM special order car came with knock off or not, knocks offs are not correct on a '63 Corvette... only added across the counter from the dealer later on.

PS... I love knockoffs on 63s... and had them on bioth my 63s... but they are still not a factory part, period.

Default Knock Off's

I canniot say wheather I agree or not . There are varying degrees of ""Yes they did , and no they did not . The original factory offering states that the """P-48""" aluminum wheels were offered ,,, So where do we go from there . If it was a factory option , how can we say they did not come off the line . Great point of discussion .
