63 SWC but auto trans
I may be a real oddball but if anyone knows of or selling an excellent 63 coupe with an automatic transmission/powerglide I am the only person probably looking for that (slight arm disability makes a manual too much of a hassle to enjoy). I am interested in more unique color combos. white/red interior, blue/red, red/red, black/red. Not really interested in black/black or silver black. After a well sorted no/low work car and proper gaps/no hit body if possible, good cage. I drive my cars so may not be as concerned about complete perfection, just want great condition. I care about aesthetic details but things that work. My Cadillac for instance is all original number matching mechanicals except the generator is now an alternator.

Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles has one for $74,500. White over brown. Paint is a little rough, but they say it's mechanically sound. Lots of pics on their site.

All that said, If that doesn't matter much to you and you don't plan on going for top flight or Bloomington gold and you can buy it for say $60k( It has been for sale for a long time) it might be worth it to you.

Most people are surprised and a little disappointed that my wife's 63 coupe is an auto. When she bought it 37 years ago she couldn't drive a stick. She still loves it though. Good luck with your search.

Thank you. Of course a ten second search found one at a gateway classic cars near me I wlll try to look at this week. I'm going to quickly wish I knew more of what to look for on these beyond having looked over a pile of them over the last few years at Mecum. I think I have a very good feel for the body but I don't fully know where to look to check the health of the structure

I actually just spoke to them about this one yesterday. Careful with this one. If you look at the photos you can see red coming through the saddle dash. I asked for trim tag and pad photos. The pad is covered in paint and is tough to read, i have asked them if it would be possible to remove it. More importantly, the trim code is 898E (factory air) which the car does not appear to be.

I spent quite a bit of time talking to the owner of this car a while back, i may still have some other photos since the ad only had a few. Last i spoke with him he was fairly firm on the price, which is why i backed off. Especially seeing there is a fully optioned silver over red going through mecum in a couple weeks that i think will sell for less than what he's asking for this. It seems like a nice enough car, i personally think that if you are patient you can get the right car for the right price you just have to be ready to move quickly when it becomes available.

Love that color. Especially with the saddle tan interior. Sebring Silver over red is now my #1 pick. Red on red is classic but I've had a couple Red SWC's already. But I understand completely. Color is extremely important and not to be compromised on any generation. I'm still tackling color on C7 myself when my lots in FL sell

Here's a fairly nice example at West Coast Corvette, I'm not affiliated and have no information on the car other than what is in the listing:

I saw a white on tan with PG on eBay this morning. Looks to be a repaint, but the interior is absolutely original....and a little rough. Wants mid $70's which is a little high for this one considering condition. Sorry, don't have the link but easily found on eBay. California car I believe.
