C2 Convertible
I am new to the forum and was hoping to ask the group for help. When I was growing up I had a 67 Stingray, and regret ever selling it. The kids are older now and I am ready for an adult treat, so I am looking for a C2 convertible project car. As the risk of offending purists in the group, I would prefer basically a good body (no major rust or damage) that I can put on a modern rolling chassis with an LS3 and Tremec. I want modern performance with the classic style. I am a private party and am not looking to flip. Since all the upgrades are expensive, I would like the initial car price to be as low as reasonably possible. I appreciate any assistance or suggestions you can provide.

First off, Welcome to the Corvette Forum where you will get a lot of different answers to one question. Next you say you are looking for a corvette that is not rusty. Sorry to inform you but fiberglass bodies on Corvettes don't rust. That is pretty much left to steal body cars. Last but not least from me is I am sure others will tell you the same thing I an going to tell you. It is cheaper to buy a car already done then it is to restore or build a car yourself, and a lot faster also.m It is easier on the body (yours) and the wallet to buy a car already built plus you get to drive it now rather then wait a year or two or three while you are building it. I have and I know a lot of other members have built or restored cars and for me I am done building or restoring cars. I leave it up to the younger guys who's bodies are in much better shape then my old body is. Good luck on what ever you decide to do build or buy but most of all welcome to the Forum.

Thanks
Thanks Mile. I probably should have been clearer when I spoke of rust, I was thinking of the birdcage. I agree it would be much easier to find one done but I haven't come across it (updated suspension, brakes, 5 or 6 speed manual and a newer crate engine) . Please let me know if you are aware of one!

Nice
Wow - nice but unfortunately also way (way) outside my zip code. I think I am going to have to stick with a project car and find a way to get the work done myself.

Try to find a car that is half-way there. One that someone else has poured tons on money into and had a change of heart. I found my car with the LS3 installed by a chevy dealer.
I have since added the Tremec 5 Speed and many other goodies.
Getting ready to work on the interior.
I hope you find a great car.

1964 Original Roadster Project needs completion
I am new to the forum and was hoping to ask the group for help. When I was growing up I had a 67 Stingray, and regret ever selling it. The kids are older now and I am ready for an adult treat, so I am looking for a C2 convertible project car. Frame and driveline are complete and rolling, with body back on, paint removed, but requires some remaining front-end fiberglass work.
This is a really nice project car which comes with about $9,600 in new parts yet to be installed including new AK interior, soft top, seats, carpet, etc. All the old parts go with it. Original windshield with 1975 inspection sticker is protected in a custom crate with padding for transport.
Car was mechanically stripped to the last frame bolt and body screw during 1999 thru 2002 with all original parts bagged and labeled, or visible hanging on my wall ready for installation after a paint job.
Body paint and primer was stripped using Redi-Strip and and wet-sanded, and is ready for a new spray gel-coat or other surface preparation.
Engine compartment is mostly populated. All body and interior items need to be restored and/or installed, including the loose dash pad which is in excellent condition.
I need to reduce my project load at this stage of my life, and have owned this 64 since 1999 - just a hobby, not in it for the profit. I have many pictures available which tells the story of this car (including the day I acquired it showing it's original interior and exterior condition) and it's restoration since I acquired it - just request by email or call if you are still interested after reading all this.
Car is located in WNC near Asheville and is ready for roll-on trailering as it sits. I have a 1999 Florida title, and both dash and VIN plates are untouched, as well as the engine pad.
Car is currently listed in the NCRS September Driveline for $28,000 asking price.
