Default GS Tribute

Well done tribute. I worked on and drove the original #3 GS back in the early 70's. A friend of mine bought it from a local autocross racer in Northern CA for a ridiculously low price (under $5000). and kept it for years. It did not have the original engine but due to its extremely low weight it would out run my BB 65 coupe every time we got together with a 327 in it. He kept it as original as possible and auto crossed it and went into Vintage Racing for years. Sold it over 20 years ago but I still have great memories of it.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the original. It is amazing how underappreciated Corvette's were in general and the Grand Sport's were in particular back in the 70's. My parents bought a 62 in the mid 70's for $1,200.

Doesn't look like it has much ground clearance. Looks pretty low at the bell housing. Not a criticism, just noticing.

You are correct. That is why I added the skid plate that can be seen in the third to last photo in the first post of the thread. The ride height can be adjusted higher if desired.

I have sent you a private message.

The engine is actually LS3 based. It was built by Blueprint Engines:
