The fact is, it's against forum rules to make critical, negative remarks about a car in a Sales Thread. Here's the rule for those who are not familiar:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/foru...eir-parts.html
I removed several posts in this thread from multiple members. The sales area is not a place for general discussion, nor is it a place to criticize cars or threads. If you have a concern you must discuss with the seller, please send a PM. Otherwise, please do not make posts that do not advance the sale.
8. Interference in a For Sale thread
If you don’t like the price or item being offered in a for-sale thread, take it to e-mail or PMs. Better still, just move on to a thread that is offering something you like the price on.
If you post a criticism of the price or the quality of the item being offered, you will be in violation of Forum rules and subject to sanctions.
If your contribution to a for sale thread does not advance the sale, you are in the way.

Need to post some photos of the engine. Is the car numbers matching (original engine, trans)? Can you show a photo of the underside? What transmission does it have?

Fully understand the need for undercarriage photos. Snowing here, no lifts in the showroom. If I take it out in this weather, the owner will kill me.

In the meantime, how about just some topside pictures of the engine, and of the trunk compartment? Do you know why there is no FI emblem on the trunk lid?

4 speed
Based on the VIN# of the car, would appear it was built mid spring of 1957. Due to the strike in 956 December that lasted till March 1957, it ould appear to be a real 4 speed car. I have no further data. Still waiting on under side pics of the car. This is a very fine 1957 being offered at a very fair price.

57 as Correct
Gentleman,
I was able to get the car on a hoist yesterday and there are now photos of the undercarriage. The rear end , transmission and engine block codes are available. I understand your concern about the car being " altered". But , I also understand it is not for sale as a survivor , all numbers correct or untouched. We know the car has had a repaint by Elite. Knowing the person that owned the car at that time and his collection, it is highly improbable that this car was any other color but black. The 4 speed based on the build month would indicate the transmission is correct. The engine block is correct coded to the car. If we were asking 150K for the car, I would be more understanding of your questions. However, we are not. We believe the car is a very fine, well kept example of a Fuelie 1957. It is priced below average book and we are accepting offers. Never has the car been advertised as anything but a 283/283 1957 Fuel Corvette . Make an offer if interested.

1957 Corvette
Hello Randy,
Thank you for your kind words. It is a nice car, a very nice car. It is being sold as just that. I can think of other dealers in neighboring states that would be lying and tell stories on the car. If they had it, it would 125K plus for sale. We have a nice, clean, straight 1957 Corvette Fuel car that stars and brings the hair up on the back of your neck. It is something that someone could get a top flight with, own and enjoy for many years. Sad to see the critical masses trying to bring it down. Again, you stated what we are saying, and we both are correct. Again, thank you.
