Default 1965 L79 Convertible

Great condition 1965 L79 Corvette convertible. Ermine White with black interior, black top. 4 speed transmission. Teak wheel. (original colors) Car was assembled in the St Louis plant. Body build date was Jan 1965. Body S2343, Paint 900CC

Car has gone through a significant body-on restoration and a few upgrades. I purchased the car from a Forum member a few years ago who did a lot of work restoring the car. The prior owner had the original number matching engine, but it was not installed in the car.

Upon purchasing both the car and the original, number matching engine, I had the original engine rebuilt to spec and installed. Engine bay was detailed, hoses replaced, Pertronix ignition added, Quickfuel Carb added, Harrison aluminum radiator, new belts, Optima Red Top battery. New wiring harness was installed. Complete front and rear suspension rebuild, complete steering rebuild. New rear fiberglass spring installed. Brakes re-done, calipers detailed. Side exhaust installed and rear valence installed. Car sounds great btw. Transmission rebuilt, new clutch installed, Hurst shifter installed. Al Knoch interior is in great shape. Carpet is excellent. No cracks or cuts in the dash pad. All dash lights work. Windows and side vent windows function. Headlights open/close and function. All turn signals/brake lights function. Clock works, radio works, but no antenna installed. Top is black and in great shape, was replaced by the prior owner.

Paint is good to very good. This is not a trailer queen. Panel fit is good, doors close with no issues, convert hatch latches properly. Gaps are good, not perfect. The car does not have an antenna installed. No cracks. Chrome is very good to excellent. Windshield trim is very good to excellent. Underbody is very good to excellent. No bird cage issues, no rust issues.

Whats been added. I wanted to add some better sound without distracting to the OEM look of the car or the integrity of a numbers matching C2. A custom Rockford Fosgate system was fabricated to fit into the rear storage area. This features a Power Series woofer and a pair of Power Series component speakers. The speakers are powered by a 400 watt Power Series amp. This system is controlled by a Bluetooth unit and a remote mount volume control (which is located in the ashtray). Completely hidden, easily returned to OEM with no cutting!! Sounds great, plays loud and is "stealth".

Also added a set of "classic" American Racing Torque Thrust" wheels and 17" 225/55/17 tires front and rear. Great looks, better than factory handling and ride.

Car drives straight, stops straight and runs strong!

To be very clear, this is an excellent "driver quality car". If you want a C2 convert to drive, have fun with and enjoy, please consider this vehicle. This is not a money pit. I have spent the time and money to make this a dependable, reliable car to drive. No "half baked" mechanics worked on this car. All work was done by C2 professionals. I have a book of receipts from both myself and the prior owner to document the work done. I am also happy to provide any interested party the contact info to the shop that performed the work. Also included is a shop manual/build manual. I can provide additional pics if needed. Asking $59,500, will consider offers, no trades. Thanks for the consideration.

The car is not a radio delete car. You can see the radio in the dash. The prior owner did not install the antenna when he did the paint work.

Thanks. I could see the radio in the dash, but I couldn't see any sign of an antenna ever being there.. Car is immaculate .

I have to admit, it really has a clean look without the mounted antenna.

since you have dropped your price, you may want to go back to the original posting and show the adjusted price there, in case someone doesn't read all the way to the bottom to see the new price. I'd love to talk my wife into having a 3rd vette... Not likely though. This would be perfect!
