Trying to locate 194377S121363
Fellow Forum Followers can anyone advise how I might used today's modern technology to find this Coupe, Vin # 194377S121363? Last seen in Annandale, Virginia this past March. It's whereabouts today, unknown. Working through the previous owner, who I thought was honorable, but who went rogue is unfortunately not an option. Car, when last seen, was sporting NJ antique tags 354W-QQ and carried a NJ Ownership Title in the name of Jo Ann Reichling of Maple Shade, NJ issued on 06/09/76 Thank you in advance for taking a moment to ponder this and reply if possible. 67Couperman

I recommend contacting Bill Gould with AutoAncestry to help locate the car.

No Sir! The car was snatched away from me before I took possession, devious seller returned my deposit and supposedly sold for more $ in the eleventh hour. I say supposedly, because he wouldn't give me the buyers info. stating the buyer wanted to remain anonymous. Hey look, the car needed work wasn't running, awful paint, etcetera and we had a deal @ 29.4K I'm sure he, the seller got religion and either kept it or sold it for more. It's a story of greed, lackadaisical inaction, trust and betrayal.
The rest of the story?
The car was a one owner survivor, I hate the word survivor since I believe it's just another way to add an award category. The car was untouched, matching numbers green on green original color scheme L79 with a 4 speed, tinted windows, PB radio and shoulder harnesses, done! Some shop down in Va. abused the heck out of the paint and finish when it was in for an engine overhaul, story I was given, and it had white overspray all over it and had a gouge in the hood. Car hadn't run in a dozen years and seller refused to let me "at least" turn it over. I drove to Annandale, Va. looked at the car spent 90 minutes speaking with the seller told him I'd get back to him with an offer. He tried selling it on line for 54K and no dice. He tried an eBay auction that hit 45K, but top two bidder didn't come forward and couldn't be found. Told me he was going to put it back up for auction again with 35K reserve .... I called him back a few days after my inspection and offered $29,400 and he said yes! Sent him $4,400 which he deposited and agreed that after the holidays I'd get the car out of his garage (springtime)
The car was at his home in Annandale, the home was vacant he was living in Southport, NC the home had been on the market, butane off during the holidays and was to be put back on the market in the Spring. He called me in early February and suggested that coming weekend, I said no already had that weekend booked and to get back to me with another weekend to make the final payment and pick up the car (transporter was ready and paid for in advance $600)
Got an text message first week of March telling me to "forget about it" my tardiness in picking up the car was to blame, my $4,400 was being returned and was selling the house and had moved the car? Here I'm thinking the guys got his plate full, was always complaining about having to run back and forth from Southport, NC. to Annandale, Va. and I was being a nice guy not pressuring him, F-me!
I could go on and on .... I just would like to know where the car is today thereby making an attempt to purchase it. That's all ...... Oh, I failed to mention the original owner and the car resided on my street, yes on my street where I live today. Before I moved into the neighborhood in 1990 the owner and car resided at #111 and I live at #136
talk about coincidence, talk about a small world. They had moved on prior to 1990 got divorced, she got the car and I had been dealing with her brother Mel Reichling "Dirty Mel" during this whole ordeal.
I did suggest, before having my offer accepted, that the car be taken up to Gaithersburg, Md. to a corvette specialist named Tony to get it running and evaluated, the seller wasn't keen on that idea. I called Gaithersburg they aren't keen on divulging information on cars they're working on, guess I can respect that?
194377S121363 has anybody seen her?
Thanks for listening I feel better already
