Very Clean 1966 Corvette Sting ray (Red)
Hello Members,
I have seen a few post regarding the rules for selling a car on this forum and want to make it clear that I am selling this car for my uncle as he would like me to handle the transaction and interfacing with any potential buyers. I agree that I will work with any forum member or friend of a forum owner post sale of this transaction. If I happen to have missed anything please let me know and I will provide any other information that is needed to assure any member this is a very serious listing.
The car is very clean near mint condition 1966 Corvette Sting Ray that my uncle enjoyed keeping that way. Below I have some pictures and some information regarding this vehicle. If interested I have more information, as I traced back the orginal #s on many parts.
This is a number matching car apart from the alternator and the distributor. Everything works well except for the AC (information below), and the power antenna (the antenna was in perfect condition until it was bent while it came out of storage). This car has been stored in heated storage every winter and driven on a few enjoyable days each year.
My uncle has owned this car for about 27 years and was his first major purchase after graduating college and obtaining his first professional job.
Below are some of the main features.
1.Red Exterior (good condition)
2.Black leather interior (excellent condition)
3.AC (All the duct work is in the car however some of the engine parts are in a box. he planned on getting it working but never got around to it.)
4.Power steering
5.Power Brakes
6.Power windows
7.Clock keeps good time
8.Frame off restoration (all the electrical wiring has been replaced)
9.Interior is in great shape (missing the cigarette lighter)
10.Engine is the 327 350 hp Hi-Lift Cam, AC, P/S & 4-speed
11.Tinted windows
Please let me know if you have any questions with this car and I would be glad to provide any requested information!
Asking $55,000 sorry not interested in trades.

Welcome to the Forum. Nice looking car, and very nice ad description and photos. Two photos that you might want to add for potential buyers, would be a photo of the Trim Tag under the glove box, and also a photo of the Engine Pad Stamp, in front of the passenger side head, showing the partial VIN # and assembly date and suffix code.
Good luck,
Steve

Good job on the listing. I think the only thing not addressed per the rules is why your uncle couldn’t join the forum and post the sale himself. Thanks.

He absolutely could have but just wanted to have me take care of it as he isn't great with technology and it be a disservice to any one potentially interested in buying the car. He believes he wouldn't get back to anyone in a timely manner so we felt it would be easier for everyone if I handled this side of the sale.

OK, just so everyone has this info.
Good luck with the sale.

I was asked about the rear axle ratio and from we can tell it is an AT - 3.08:1 Positraction which seems odd to us as this is listed as an option for the 427 motor. Any ideas why this could be? I added a picture below but it's hard to see as we had to use a mirror to get a good look at it so the image is transposed. I will try and get another picture tonight.

Perhaps one of the previous owners made the swap during the first oil shock in 1973.. Not a bad ratio to have these days. Nicely presented car and description. Looks like a super solid driver. I like that the wiring has been changed out.
