1963 Rolling chassis and shell
I'm looking at a rolling chassis and shell. Chassis has been completely restored, convertible. No other parts are included. Questions are what is a good price for this and other question is how hard is it to put a BB in a 63? Has anyone here done it?

All you have to do to install a BB is clearance the front crossmember for the harmonic balancer. Everything else fits. Price? A decent frame can be had for $1500ish and a bare shell for a bit more. What happened to the rest of the car?

A frame for $1500? Fully restored? And the shell? Where are you shopping? Does anyone have a realistic price of what this would be worth?

James....I don't know what a "realistic" price is, but if I were considering buying this, I'd first determine what a non-numbers matching 63 convertible might sell for in nice running condition. I'd take that number, and start subtracting everything I'd need to buy/do to the shell in question to get that one into saleable condition. After I'd subtracted everything I could think of, I'd subtract another 20% or so for those things I'd miss. The remainder is what I would consider the "shell" to be worth. That is assuming of course that there is a clean title to go with the shell.
Personally, I suspect you'll end up with a negative number..then you have to decide how bad you want "that" car. Also, expect the owner of the current shell to have a much greater perception of value of the shell than you might end up with. If so, keep looking... :yesnod:

Most of the frame prices I've found, from straight but used to fully custom w/C5 suspension are $3000-$6000 as far as body panels......the cheapest front and rear clips(reproduction) are $900 and $700 respectively up to $3000 per clip.........anybody alse have examples  or cheaper prices
