Default VIN Tag Placement for 1961

here is my dilemma, I have replaced the steering column in my 61 when I built my own power rack and pinion sttering setup. I now have a new vin tag for the car. Should I put it back on my new and non original steering column or place it in the doorjamb like the 58 to 60's?
seems the 58 to 60 tag was screwed in and the original tag was spot welded to the column.

Why not rivet the original vin tag to the new column?

Believe it or not most replacement tags get JB welded (glued) to the column. It looks better than screws or rivits, they ruin the tag. And, as 60corvetteman says, put a zip-tie or two on it as well.
