L79 Intake Manifold

Melting Slicks
The last three casting numbers will be 490. There is no casting date on the top side of the intake. The casting date is located under the shield on the underside that can't be seen while on the car.

I'v got one listed on e-bay right now. It needs some repair in the thermo area but Jerry MacNeish can do great work.
Take a look at ebay item http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT
Thanks,
Mike

pn 3890490 to be exact. There are three of them on ebay right now, inclusive of the above forum member. Do not be too concerned about the date, as stated above it is underneath a riveted splash shield on the bottom side and never seen by anyone. Do be concerned about carb stud threads and t-stat cover threads and temp sender threads being in good shape, also beware of any "hogging out" of the plenum, a not uncommon "go fast" trick in the day. Finally, be concerned if you see a pipe plug in the water pump by-pass hole, chances are you will not be able to remove it either.
