Body Work Questions 57 Prefer Ncrs Style
I know of a 57 corvette and it's original fenders are all booggered up with bondo.... the front clip and the rear clip all have areas of bondo. The rear body mounts are cracked and boogered up with some kinda putty and its cracking a little bit.... If I want the car to be perfect CAN I replace all of the fenders....body panels etc.... with panels and bonding strips that would pass for NCRS judging purposes. The frame is pretty straight with no signs of any real hard damage.

Yes, your car can be repaired. All the replacement panels are available.
In fact one company has a complete 1957 body that's made just like the original. I think it's Corvette Central but I could be wrong on that.

Corvette Central makes the complete '57 body shell, about $12K. Correct match-molded jig-assembled front clips and trunk lids are available, but all the rest of the available '57 body panels are hand-laid (rough textured on the inside) and wouldn't fly for judging. You could spend a LOT of money bringing a body like you describe back to life.

O.K. so what is the best way to go? I don't want to put money into the body if it wouldn't pass judging. I am mostly concerned about the slightly cracking and repaired rear body mounts.

If you aren't experienced in major fiberglass body repair, I'd pass on it and look for one that doesn't need major body repair/replacement.
