Default Steering Column Bearing Question

Can the upper steering column bearing, be replaced without removing the column from the car, as per the shop manual? It is a standard non telescoping wheel.

Yes! Did it several years ago. It's in the upper support, made of aluminum. I filed the top surface off to get the old one out, tapped three locations around the collar for very small set screws. Installed the bearing, secured the screws with locktite...done! Dennis
