Knowns as "power pack" heads. I think your casting date is June 10, 1957. 1.72" intake, 1.5" exhaust. I also believe they are correct for fuel injection 283 cubic inch. Do a google search on the casting number - you'll get more info than you know what to do with.

TTT

O.K. according to the Black Book the Heads are from a Fuelie. What is the cast date F107. Is it possible that they put the wrong heads on a car from the factory?

If the cast date is Jan 07. Wouldn't that coincide with the rest of my #'s. Block # 548. Cast # K106 pad # F1112EG

Thanks,
livin

Very unlikely that they installed the wrong heads from the factory. Dual quad 997 heads have a single tower mark on the end and are rare, very rare. The 539 heads are very easy to get they were installed on single 4 cars as well. Not limited to just Corvette.

from mortec.com
"The casting dates look something like this "E 12 7". The "E" stands for the month of the year with "A" being the month of January, "B" being the month of February and so on thru the letters to December. In this case the "E" stands for the month of May, the fifth month of the year and the fifth letter of the alphabet. The "12" stands for the 12th day of the month. The "7" is the year of the decade. Now unfortunately this could be '57, '67, '77, '87 or '97 depending on which part you are looking at. Some casting dates have both the year of the decade and the decade itself. They look like this "E 12 77", meaning May 12, 1977. "

That's how I determined your date in my first post.

Yes. Check out www.mortec.com - there is some great information about Chevy V8 casting numbers, dates, bore and stroke, etc...

F 10 7 is June 10, 1957, so those aren't the original heads; the "EG" suffix is for a 2x4 270hp, and they took 997 heads - 539's were only used on fuelies. The K 10 6 block casting date is November 10, 1956, and the pad stamp is November 12, 1956.
