Metric fuel fitting adapter?
I found the perfect fuel filter look alike for a 65 396. :blueangel:
Its NAPA # 23481, FRAM G3727, WIX 33481.
The problem is it has female metric threads on both ends.
a 3/8" flared tubing fitting threads in fine, but does not seat
the tubing.
Any ideas?

396RAT:
I think this is the replacement filter for GM TPI systems that I am using on my frame conversion car. If memory serves, it has female metric threads, 16mm x 1.5 thread, on each end. I found (after a LOT of searching) an adaptor made by Russell, part #4806, that will work. I believe it was actually listed as a brake fitting or power steering adaptor and has an O ring seal on the filter end and an AN -6 male fitting on the other. I did replace the O ring furnished with the fitting with a "fatter" one. I had a local parts house order mine. Cost was $12.55 each.
I just checked:http/www.martelbros.com/. They still have them listed.

Re: Metric fuel fitting adapter? (396 RAT)
That's right, it is 16mm x 1.5 female on both ends
and was used on 83-2001 GM cars & trucks.
Thanks for the info! I will ck on the fittings Wed.
$12.00 ea seems pretty steep, but I will gladly pay it
if it works!
Is it a flared fitting or compression? or does it adapt a male 3/8" flared
fuel/brake line to 16mm female?
Thanks again!

Rats! foiled again. Min. 3 month lead time on all Russel fittings,
as per martelbros.
:mad
Maybe I could buy a fuel line with this fitting and re-bend it?
Do chevy's from 83-91 that use this filter use metric tubing? or
is it 3/8" tubing with metric fittings?
I will get to the bottom of this!
Thanks! Mark
