Default 1956 Corvette on Ebay. Is this for real ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=593949395

Saw this car on Ebay. 1956 Corvette in pretty nice condition. Current bid 23,000. Seems like a deal to me ? What am I missing ? I would have thought a car like this would have been in the 30's ?

No original engine or tranny probably hurts it.

I love it  "The car also came with the driving lights underneath the headlights, which from what I understand was optional." Wonder if they have ever heard of turn signals?

...and "This car also has windshield wipers, which I was once told was also an option."

tom...

The thing that really hurts it is the door fit. The seller is not being straightforward about it. Corvettes before late '57 had NO steel reinforcements in the body. When the doors start to sag, BIG problems- and not easily remedied!

I live in Pittsburgh and have never seen this car. Wonder if Cruise has? It states the bidding is closed on this item. What was the reserve?

Wouldn't mind seeing the car.

Curtis - The bidding must have closed just before you looked. It was open earlier in the day. One thing they said was, "If the bidding reaches 25,000, all the other parts will be included." So, doesn't sound like they were asking much more than that.

Even needing the body work, it sounded like a good deal ? Of course, we have no idea about the frame, etc...until someone actually looked at it in person.

Patrick - Nice car ! I bet you have some real "sweat equity", in it :D

Now we know where "Bubba" has been working recently! He left his signature from one end of the car to the other. Too bad...... :U
