I love dynamat!
I drove the vette for the first time today after installing the carpet and dynamat.. wow what a difference. All that random rattling and little sounds have gone away completely. It feels and sounds so much better. I definately suggest Dynamat Xtreme.

Makes the car sound a lot more solid and keeps your feet cooler too. Well worth the money. It also makes the carpet fit alot better than compared to using the original type insulation.

How much sq. foot do you guys recommend for a C2 and would you use it instead of the jute padding? Which dynomat? Approx cost to do a midyear?

I've used the fatmat and the dynomat. The dynomat is more expensive, but it is thicker and does not have a pungent odor like the fatmat.
I use it in place of the jute backed padding. It just makes the carpet fit sooo much better. Whenever i have used the orignal type padding the carpet bunches up or refuses to sit or stick down correctly regardless of how much adhesive is used. With the dynamat you just roll it into place and glue the carpet directly on top. It might seem odd that something so thin could take the place of the original padding, but trust me it does and is far superior. Technology is a wonderful thing. I purchased mine off of ebay for a great discount. One bulk pack does the front.

I also used a heat shield over the dynamat, it was mentioned on the forum some time ago. I think it was called Reflectex? I used metal tape to adhere it to the dynamat and then glued the carpet down to it. Not only did I get the sound deadening, but got much cooler too!

How many square feet are required to cover a mid year convertible, or a coupe? If no one knows I suppose I can measure my new carpet..

Someone told me that I can use Dynamat under the tops of my C-1 front fenders to keep stones from creating "stars' in my new paint. This would be an alternative to using spray undercoating. Anyone had any experience in this area?
