Default 67 stinger scoop for hood.

I have a 66 small block hood and I want to install a stinger scoop on it. What supplier just makes the scoop. The hood is good so I did not want to buy a 67 BB hood.

Might just want to buy a hand laid big block hood. I dont think anybody makes just the scoop anymore. Even if you did find one the amount of labor that you would have in it would far outweigh the cost of buying a cheap repor HL model. Check on ebay for the hand laid ones-i see them occassionally pop up and go for around 250-300. If you want to cover up the unsightly rough glass on the underside grab a container of bondo and a da sander and go to town. Or you could make a custom liner for the hood to cover it. Either way you are winnning over cutting out your original hood. Lots of labor and mess not to mention that you might bond the scoop on crooked.

Get the 65/66 BB hood they look great and arent that expensive anymore. There are several sources to buy from. A 66 should have the 66 BB hood...I think it looks very mean.

J. C. Whitney has them. Made out of fine plastic and comes with double sided tape for easy application.

It's HIGHLY likely that with that type of installation (flat-bonding that stinger onto a stock hood) that it will show stress cracks in the bond and filler material you'll blend to make the transition from the stinger to the hood surface all around the edges shortly afterwards. You will NOT be happy, and you'll ruin a perfectly good stock hood.

I have a 67 BB scoop if your interestd. I was going to graft it to my L88 hood (taking the L88 scoop off first of course), but have now decided to just but a complete hood. I can send you pics if your interested.

It is more than just the scoop alone. There is about 6 inches of "flat" glass on either side for bonding.
