man, try finding some raised white letter tires out there. nobody makes em anymore. cooper has one, goodyear another. i am waiting on goodyear but they are backordered till forever. cooper says cobra jet or something on it. hell, i would even take a firehawk, like the letters of firestone. i like the raised white letters on vettes. kinda old school. anyone have any other ideas.

BFGoodrich Radial T/A's are the best looking tire to me for raised white letters. Nice, clean sidewall, letters good size and shape, nice tread pattern.

That's what I run...
Click the picture lower right where the symbol is and it will come up extra large so you can really see what the tires look like..

We put BF Goodrich Radial TAs and Torque Thrust D rims on our 62 and I really like the look. The new wheels/tires changed the car from a sleepy looking stocker to more of a performance look. Plus, the 4 wheel disc brakes look good through the TT Ds.
Winston also has a white letter radial; we have a set on the 65 Chevelle.

I have a 61 that I'm thinking of similar set-up but with TT - originals.
Also, what sie wheels and tires did you use. ??

Wish Goodyear would make the Eagle GT HR with this type of lettering. The outline gives the 'white letter look' but is not too much. Not sure what we are going to do when we look for new rubber, as these are about 22 years old.
My only compaint with the Radial TA is that they are an S rated tire, and have very flimsy sidewalls. I had them on my Camaro all through High School and beyond, as Super Shops sold them cheap, and I needed look cool and cheap. Did not realize how they handled until I put Radial TA's on a car that had a stiffer sidewall tire prior. The Radial TA moves around a bunch. Choices are becoming limited though.
