Default Value of rolling chassis

<putting flame suit on> I'm going to take the plunge and go for the SRIII motorsports frame, LSx engine, maybe T56 or Auto trans, or keep my TKO600.

How much (I know I know)would my 65 complete Vert rolling chassis be worth? I am talking complete with brakes, all suspension, engine (NOM 350 low performance, but does run), sidepipes less covers, ceramic coated sidepipe headers, maybe trans (TKO600 w/ 600 miles), power steering, 4:11 rear, no rust (California ), maybe even spare tire assy, and gas tank as well. Front suspension is pretty fresh, rear might need new bushings. Basically everything but the body and interior.

Or..would I get more out of it, disassembling it and selling off parts seperately? Maybe keeping the trans, since it is new.

One of our club members put his 66 "rolling" frame up for sale this spring, asking $5,500. It had light surface rust, good kick-ups, and not hit. This included all the suspension, including the 3:70 rear, brake calipers and the steering box which was rebuilt about 2 years ago...... He did not sell the steel wheels, so the "rolling" chassie was on 4 dounut tires.....

If it is in good shape then i would guess around 6K depending on how bad somebody needs it.
There is a fuelie car here in bham for sale for 35K that needs a new frame-perhaps i should buy the car and your frame, combine and sell.

There you go Then you'll have a car worth close to 75K ?

There is another member here that wants the steel wheels, so I will have to figure out a price for those, as it will cost me to find rollers for it.
I will likely end up keeping the TKO unless I can get closer to 10K leaving it in with the engine. It is a nice combo having those 4:11's with the 5 speed.

I wouldn't part it out. I'd sell it as a complete rolling unit.

Thanks for the link. I'll be watching it.

Good to see it at 5K with 4 days still left to go. I don't have a BB rear in mine, but it does have 4:11's. I will likely include the NOM 350, and bellhousing with it. My frame has even less rust than that one...a lot less. Plus I will include the power steering, and sidepipes/headers. Just not the heat shields.

for that kit, can it be a C3 frame? If so, entire late 70s cars are going for less than a C2 frame...

Thats why people convert C3 frames. Ive seen people buy a C3, pull the body, sell what they can and use the chassis on a C2 for cheeper than what a C2 Chassis cost.

OUCH! That must hurt to spend that much to find the frame is bad. Make sure he checks the birdcage also, as he might not want to spend anymore on it. Is his a coupe or convertible? I don't know if there is a difference in the frames or not.
I don't have the body pulled off of mine yet, but I will give him first shot when I do. If all he needs is just the frame though, they make new repro frames. I can't remember the vendor, but the bare frames are about $4500. I will be asking more for mine, since it is a complete roller.

The vendor you're thinking of is probably Vetteproducts.net. My brother just bought a frame for his '70 there and is very happy with it. C2 frames are about $4500 complete but you can buy various sections. Frame from cowl back is ONLY $2700 if that would work.
