Default Glove box

Want to pull out the glove box on my mid year. Can I do so by just removing screws around perimeter? Any tricks I should know about?

Yes - that allows pulling the whole assembly at once. If yours has a glovebox light in it you will have to disconnect it. It's kind of an unusual bulb socket affair as I remember.

Greg,

Watch the wire to the light. I had mine break (very old and brittle) and couldn't figure out how it was held in the bulb holder so that I could rewire it. I broke the bulb holder and had to order a new one. I had to remove the front facia seperately from the liner. Not sure if that is the only way to do this but it was how I did it. Someone may have a better way but I think that you have to seperate the liner and facia due to the fact that the hole in the liner will not allow the bulb holder to slip out without the seperation of the two. Could be wrong on this, someone will chime in if I am incorrect here.

Steve

Disconnect the battery first - that orange wire to the glove box light is "hot" all the time (battery power). You have to remove the bulb before you can remove the wire terminal from the bulb socket.

I am trying to find the secret to the replacement of my glove box light assembly. I have received the part from LI Corvette for my 67 but cannot figure out how to attach the hot wire to the hook provided. I have found pictures on the forum but no detail on how to attach the hot wire. Please provide any links to info or any source for some installation details.

67GreenWhite, welcome to the CF. This is a 12 yr old thread and may not get responses as you need. It's always best to star a new thread with the appropriate title. Dennis

Appreciate the reply. I found a thread with pictures to assist. Will do in future. Didn't realize how old the thread was when I replied!
