Default Thread updated

Added a few new posts, one for garage / lift and safety items.
Also added an overheating post, those questions should start soon, at least we all hope they will as that means the snow is gone!!!!!!

FYI, I created a new section:
Other interesting sites:
Barryk's Corvette Tech tips site (a lot of tips / articles)
BlackMagic's site (modification tips / details)
CorvetteWorld (lot of good info on C1 and C2
The Idaho Corvette web page
Web-cars.com/Corvette

Note I moved BarryL's site there. Was originally on the first post.

If you see something that should be added, please post a link. I tried to group things togetner alphabetically, some may be a bit off but believe it's a good start.
Bruce, As a new corvette owner and new member....this is absolutely awsome. One source to find anything I need to know.

Thanks!!!

Transmission shift shaft snapped (shifter and linkage install process warning):

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...st-gear-2.html

The message to take away from this is: do NOT use a socket/drive to install the transmission shift levers to the transmission shift shafts. Without much torque at all, I snapped my reverse shaft. Use a wrench or better yet a torque wrench and know how much is "enough".

The Tech Tips section once available has not been accessible for updates for quite some time because the software used to create the material is no longer supported and is not compatible with the vBulletin software that runs the Forum.

It's not as critical in this section as in others because of the great compilation work done by bweaver999, but I'm posting these links provided by C4Cruiser in each generational section.

Restoring the Tech Tips section is on a long list of “to-do” items to try and resurrect the section, but has not made it to the top of the priority list as yet.

C1-C2 Related Tech Tips:
http://web.archive.org/web/200312201....php?TopicID=4

C3 Related Tech Tips:
http://web.archive.org/web/200310031....php?TopicID=3

C4 Related Tech Tips:

C5 Related Tech Tips:
http://web.archive.org/web/200306041....php?TopicID=1

Cross-generational Tech Tips:
http://web.archive.org/web/200402030....php?TopicID=5

Mike Schriber Reviews:
http://web.archive.org/web/200312201....php?TopicID=6

If you want to post newer tech tips, please post a link to them in this thread. If you know of other tech tips already posted, post a link here to them as well. That should make the task of getting the Tech Tips on track much easier when we get the necessary window of opportunity to make it happen.

Thanks.

I didn't see anything similar to this in here. If it is duplicate then delete. I have needed this information on several occasions. It has almost every VIN/serial/stamp/casting number for c1&c2 corvettes.

I’m not sure how the last page here wound up with a handful of random questions, but it’s been cleaned up.

I think this FAQ thread simply contains a directory of links that are of help to a lot of people looking for common info. If you have a specific question you want answered, please start a new thread in the General Discussion area and it can be addressed. It’s possible that thread link might end included up in this thread at some point.

No problem with gas for me in the future. I just sent a moneygram (that's all he would accept) to a man that has perfected burning water instead of gas in my car.
He will send me the formula in a sealed envelope upon picking up the money.
He doesn't sell in California though, they don't have enough water to drink, let alone use in in a car.

Roger,

Would you be interested in purchasing the Golden Gate bridge as well? California has recently given me the EXCLUSIVE rights to sell. It only needs a little paint from time to time due to salt air however, it brings in LOTS of revenue. Low monthly payments!!!

This is a great resource index to go to. Many of the questions we all have had and will have, have been asked before. No need to ask it again if its found this way.

You might want to add Top Flight Automotive (www.topflightautomotive.com) in this category.
