1963 Console Restoration, Update
Hi Guys,
Put my console in the kitchen sink last night and smothered it with Easy-Off. This stuff stinks to high heaven. I had to go out to the garage and get a respirator. After 10 min. I scrubbed it with a 3m scoth-brite pad. It took 2 applications and I got it all off. The console looks so much better already. It seems a lot of marks and scratches were in the anodized surface. My next step is to wet sand it and buff it to bring up a shine. I'll report back when it's done. I'll lose some of the brushed finish and I'll have to be carefull not to get to much of a shine.
