Same here, as well as the headlights-closed warning light. I think this is in the bulb itself, as opposed to the circuit. It sort of behaves like a christmas light, has to warm up for a couple seconds before the flashing becomes regularly timed.

You are horribly correct! The LIGHTS and BRAKE bulbs are #257 flasher bulbs.
