Default Brackets for Dewitt Radiator

Happy Memorial Day Everyone

I am currently rebuilding my 64 Vette (First Timer). I just bought an after market dewitt aluminum radiator with electrical fan, I want to remove the fan shroud but was not told I would need to either modify or purchase a bracket to hold the radiator in, anybody know if they sell a bracket or do i have to modify something myself.

Thanks

You shouldn't have to buy any brackets, it should go in where the other comes out. You did order a replacement '64?

I purchashed a direct fit combo for a 64 Vette, The only brackets I have seen are the ones to hold the fan shroud in, I want to remove the fan shroud and just run the electrical fans. I jus purchased the car unless the previous owner left out some brackets I only see the fan shroud holding the radiator in

Thanks

Default radiator

You need to run the fan shroud. It will only run hotter without it and you cant mount the radiator.

I have a Dewitt's radiator and the fan brackets that I bought from them. At least on mine, the shroud will not allow the 2 pegs on the bottom of the radiator to fit thru the holes. I still managed to button it all up and the radiator isn't going anywhere.

I might have the paperwork, but Dewitts would surely be able to tell you.

The bracket that holds the radiator in bolts onto the core support in front and jumps over the radiator to bolt onto the shroud. On the underside of this bracket is a n shape part with a rubber cushion that holds the radiator in. You can remove the shroud and this bracket will still hold the radiator in but I would add some kind of wire tie or something to make sure the radiator didn't pop out of there. You could also change to the upper bracket for a 65 396 which is much smaller.
