Their still out their
I have heard many say the old barn or field finds are a thing of the past.
This past weekend I visited a place less than 40 miles from my house, with not 1 but 9 corvettes setting in a wooded area. I have been a vette guy for about 25 years and thought I had heard of, or seen about every old corvette in my area. A friend told me he ran into a man who had a 58 for sale for under 20K. I called the number he gave me, the guy said he had several and would sell two of the 58's. He said they were projects. I went to see them this weekend. I pictured them setting in a garage , boy was I wrong. I met him at a locked gate, where we walked down a dirt drive thru the woods. On both sides of the drive where old cars, trucks and misc. stuff. Then I saw the front end of a 58 corvette in with the other cars. their ended up being,
3- 58's, 1- 59, 1- 57,1- 68, 1 - 82, 1- 84, 1- 88. All in a junk yard type
setting. and uncovered. The 68 was the only one I could walk around and look at, all the others had auto parts on,in and all arround. Very rough condition. Mostly just a body and frame from what I could tell.
It was too hot and snakey to do much looking. I plan to go back when it cools down this fall. Will take pictures then. Sorry so long.
