I have the 4 nuts removed from heater faceplate and it pulled out
about 1.5 inches. Can not see what holds the clock in. Does it twist out or am I missing something.
yep, it twists,,, i forget which direction and think you have to push while twisting; but if you look carefully at the back you should be able to figure it out.

The clock must be pulled to the back ( toward the firewall). Then you rotate it clockwise (turn to right). Then it pulls out the front. There is a
waffle spring that must be collapsed by pulling it back.
