Hidden V.I.Ns on C2s??
I know where they are on C1s but not on C2s. This would be helpful to know for other members to check and make sure there was no hanky panky in the past with their cars or one they are looking at for purchase if there is a suspicion of it.

The topic has been covered dozens of times on the CF.
Here is just one thread you find using Search.

Hey Hemi
your consistency sucks. First you want to say that corvettes are all about driving, hopping up, changing all around to suit your personal tastes and desires. Numbers be damned!
Then here you want to be sure that other members who might be looking to buy a car are fully aware of numbers hanky panky.
What the heck?
Would you pick one side of the argument or tother and stick with it?

My post on the subject are to HELP people understand what goes on in the hobby so if it is important to THEM they know how to proceed with a purchase and understand the difference. As I have said many times in the past there are far fewer cars that have the BORN items but many think that a car represented as "matching numbers" very well may not be a car WITH the BORN engine etc. The cars that can PROVE it to be so can bring substantially more but few CAN prove it. People need to understand the questions to ask when looking to buy one of these cars so they don't overpay. However this thread is more about the risk of possibly buying a past stolen car that if discovered could lose the car.
I hope this clears my thoughts on all of this for you.
