1965 Interior Dye/Paint question
I have 1965 page from the Ditzler Automotive Finishes book (PPG) that states the color code for interior finish.
Low Gloss Medium Dark Saddle and Medium Saddle for some parts and Full Gloss Medium Saddle for other parts.
Corvette America has just Medium Saddle which is listed for both the 65 and 66 model year.
If I use PPG products I would be using their DBI interior color line or Corvette America dye product in a spray can.
What are your thoughts on these two products? I need to dye / paint everything inside the car but am not sure if syray cans is the way to go with this project. My biggest concern is that if I go the spray can route it's going to not look right as everything will be the same shade of saddle.
From an spray equipment standpoint I can go both way. Has anyone used PPG DCI interior color, your thoughts???
Thanks.

I re-dyed my interior last year using Dupont product. I purchased my paint/dye product at my local automotive paint supply store. They had color references for all cars and could mix any formula. I was also able to purchase different levels of gloss from low to high. I painted using a detail gun but the paint store could put the paint into spray cans as well. Regards, Marv

I've used PPG elastromeric vinyl paint with excellent results - although on something other than a Corvette. They can flatten it to your needs. Another way to vary the finished gloss as needed is to pick up a few cans of SEM clear vinyl dye. They sell at least one Satin and a Gloss finish. They may have a couple levels of satin and semi-gloss. The clear also provides a layer of protection over the color coat to protect it. SEM products are excellent.

I'm not real clear on what you are asking. I had my instrument panel refurbished and It came back with what i would call a semi gloss finish on the black and i used a semi gloss finish on the dash pads. I wanted to go with gloss on the dash pads but feared it might be too bright in the sun. Marv
