Default Restoring original power antenna motors - midyears

...i've done a number of the newer reproductions and had no problems..the original is quite different....anyone ever try to put these things back together?...what is the secret to getting the wire, spool and outer ring back together?

thanks

I haven't done it in a couple of years, but if you clean everything really well and grease it all up - wind the cable into the can - and you may have to remove/loosen the motor drive to get the whole thing to snap together. I would install new override springs (cut hardware store stock) and ***** from a bearing shop - as well as grind small ramps for the ***** to climb the override stops (to keep the override working easily).
