Every body says 461/462 heads do not flow enough, but way back when in 1969 I had a set of 462s that were severely ported for a gasser motor that I put on an over the counter LT-1 stock short block (cost $371.00) with a tunnel ram and a big cam that would rev 9-10,000 in my 62. The car ran high 10s at 125 consistently. Pretty fast at that time. So I would not be so quick to discount these heads. They have been sitting in a box now for the last 30+ years. Every now and than I think about building another motor similar to it.
