You know this is an old thread (~10years?) if Mike is not recommending the... $44.99. 1 year free replacement. 5 year prorate Rural King. Why pay more?

Wish we had Rural King where I'm from...

Good luck... GUSTO

My son also worked for Exide in the QC department of one of their manufacturing plants. Your statement pretty much matches experiences. He too always buys the cheaper battery.

I bought an Absorbed Glass Mat battery for my Honda Goldwing(with way too much extra lighting) after the Wal Mart one crapped out after a month, that was almost 7 years ago and it still works great. Not sure of the brand I've got but an AGM can't leak or spill, in fact one time the car batt. died and I simply held the Goldwing battery upside down matching the posts to jump it, worked just fine. When, or if, I get my '66 going I'm gonna put an AGM in it.

When you do, by all means consider the Exide Edge an AGM. Pretty widely available, and typically around $150.

Good luck... GUSTO

thanks Gusto, and 150 these days isn't much more than the standard Autozone battery. By the way did you fly a tilt wing like in your pic? They practice high altitude stuff around my place often. Can't sneak up on anybody in one of those!

Yes, actually when they come in low, just above treetops, you'll never hear them coming...

My experience with AGM's is typically 7-10 years of service. They can be a bit fussy to charge if you let them discharge, but I've had excellent service from them over the past 20+ years.

So far, no trouble charging it and it charges in fairly short time and I've run it down a few times. I think AGM is where it's at until lithium ion becomes common in car batts. And you lose some weight to boot.

And my mistake, I think it's a tilt rotor, and because I'm surrounded by tree tops, if I see one but can't hear it , I'm runnin.
