Default Sizing up the Competition- Roush 327R- 327ci/425hp

Here are the specs on the Roush 327R Crate Engine..

ROUSH 327R SPECIFICATIONS

Engine Model- 327R

Horsepower- 425hp

Torque- 390 ft/lbs

Displacement- 327 cubic inches

Block-Ford/Dart Iron Eagle 4 bolt- 8.2 Deck

Crank- Eagle 4340 Steel

Bore/Stroke- 4.00 x 3.25

Compression-10.0-1

Pistons- Wiseco/Forged

Heads- Roush 185cc- CNC ported

Chamber- 61cc

Valve size- 2.05/1.60

Intake- Victor Jr.

Carb- 770cfm Holley/Vac Secondary/elec choke

Max Recomended RPM- 6250

Timing- 29 to 31 adv/ not to exceed 31

Flywheel-Steel 151 tooth- SFI rated

Camshaft- Roush Proprietary

The Bad- It's a Ford and it's reliable street power

The Good- At $10k it is way too expensive and a Chevy version
equal in power/torque can be built for 25 to 35 % of the
10k price tag.

Roush proprietory camshaft....probably just an LT1 cam

I'm sure the cam will have less duration and more lift than an LT1...
to match the Roush heads and make more power.

I don't imagine any Ford guys would want a Chevy spec'd cam for
their Ford 327 anyway.
