Barry, thank you for taking the time to organize these tech articles. Have used your tech section for many upgrades and repairs and appreciate your efforts.

Works great with Firefox 3 on the MAC!

Interesting that on my Firefox 2 browser, the "Cams & Related" & "Cooling System" links come up readable, but the items above ("C6 Tech") and below (Electrical") those 2 come up too small.

Also tried the "Control Plus", and it appears to work and only affects that page, but then is make the other lettering offset from grids.

When I tried it via IE 6, got the overwrite issue.

Joe

just got your post. not sure if you can help or not because of the program I'm using.......... I'm doing something to create this page that is FAR off the books as far as the design of the program intended in the method I used.
i know it looks like a simple page but how I did it was not conventional.

UPDATE:

ok, I made a boatload of changes in the background that I think MIGHT have worked but i need you guys with PC's to please check it since it displays perfectly for me as it has since the beginning.

for those using IE6 or IE7 that the entire page is broken this probably isn't going to fix that yet, i'm still trying to diagnosis that issue, but for those that their browsers opened up the page fine but the font size inside the Accordion was tiny I think that's fixed now if you would check and confirm one way or the other for me.

Jeff, glad it's working better for you!

al, since you were the one that first pointed out with your screenshot that IE7 was breaking the page and you have both loaded is Firefox working for you also? And is it still broken in IE?
I'm figuring it should work in FF but expecting IE to still break it.

Personally i wish EVERYONE would dump ALL Microsoft products, especially IE which is probably the worst browser on the planet but the reality of it is that 70-80% of internet users use IE regardless of how crappy it really is.

Now that I've "dissed" Microsoft i'm going to have Joe all over my back! Techs like Joe won't admit it but they only love MS products because it keeps them employed because of all their inherent problems!

Barry,

Thanks again! Works great and is "right sized" in Firefox 2, but as you expected, IE6 is still fubar.

thanks John! At least it's usable in some browsers now.
IE is going to be a tougher nut to crack though and from what i'm seeing there is a very good possibility that it can't be fixed and I have to completely re-do the page all over again from scratch in a entirely different way.
Man, I can't express enough how much I hate IE!!

Sorry Barry, I didn't wait long enough. About 10 seconds later , it went back to the same problem. I am not very patient I guess.

ok guys, here is the scoop...........

I have so many frickin' hours invested in the overhaul of this page that it's going to take me a while to get motivated to have to start all over again from scratch just to make it work with IE6 and IE7, which are both browsers that DO NOT conform to web compliance standards and fixxing the page to work with IE won't work.
I've had the page tested in the brand new IE8 beta versions and it works on that, so.......... what i've decided is to leave the page as is for now.
I'll add a not on the top of the page that it does NOT work with IE6 or IE7 and will require viewing the page with another Browser such as Firefox.
You can download Firefox or wait for the new IE8, (or do yourselves a huge favor and buy a Mac instead of your Windows based PC ) but I'm too brain-fried to start creating the page all over again from scratch.
Those with IE, I'm sorry, but that's the way it has to be for now. I can only do so much and can only put so much time and effort into this.
