'65 Barn find, Thoughts on this car?
"65 coupe, blue. This car has been sitting for over 8 years. 20 yr old paint is nice except for a couple of places where it has flaked off(should be repainted). Interior is nice(white). 66K miles. PS, PB, PW, Auto, Cruise(looks factory). Solid frame and birdcage with no rust issues. 327 but NOM. Has add on air. He will sell for about 22k.

Cruise what not a factory option. Does the car run? It looks good for $22000. How is the frame. By the looks of it the spare tire tub is missing. Do you have any engine photos.
Good luck

Scott,
I told the forum a while ago that I met an individual who picked up a 66 Coupe for between $20K and $30K. Everyone thought I was telling a story. Now you find this one for $22K +/-. They are out there as the forum will now believe. The 66 this guy picked up was up in the Baudette area. Good find. Go after it.

The car looks good in the two photos. If there are no major issues, such as frame and birdcage rust, or maybe botched bodywork, it's worth the price. It would be nice to know if it ran and the condition of the drivetrain.

A NOM powerglide '65 coupe driver would be worth about $35K in good running condition with decent paint?
You said no rust; assuming the body is also good, you are looking at paint, brakes, lines, suspension & joints, tires, and probably cooling systems and more... Why was it parked eight years ago? Condition of engine? Has the engine been run regularly?
$22K sounds fair, but I certainly don't think it's a steal... With paint and the rest, it'll suck up $20K in a heartbeat, and when you're done you'll have a NOM '65 powerglide coupe driver worth about $35K...
All depends on what you are looking for I guess? Probably cheaper to just go spend the $35K up front.
My 02 cents,
Paul
PS.What's the scoop with the 220 parked in the background? Vert, sedan...?

I put my .02 in with Paul's. Paint can run $8-10k. An engine will vary widely depending on what is needed. Since it is NOM anyway, a crate motor makes sense; but sounds like $5-8k depending on what you want power wise. I'm including new carb, distributor, water pump, alternator etc.
Then you have the suspension issues, and there will be some. Brakes, rear, trans... who knows.
What is my perspective? The last 2+ years doing my NOM '64 roadster.
The little stuff eats you alive. Of course if you can do this all yourself, that is a very different story. If you are paying the bills, look at what has already been done by others. Most of the time you get more for your money by buying, carefully, some one else's restoration; and you can drive it now.
Good Luck any way you choose to go.

Motor stamp comes back as 1965 327 4bbl Auto 275 hp from a sedan and has been rebuilt and a 2bbl carb/intake installed on it. Carb was taken off for rebuild and not put back on so can't start it now.
Looks like new calipers have been installed all 4 wheels. Exhaust surface rusty from sitting but frame and tin is good. Has been painted but no major bodywork detected(I was a bodyman for almost 20 yrs) and looks good for a driver but could be better. Exh manifolds, air cleaner, overflow tank, some ign shielding and original hubcaps there. Interior needs nothing but a cleaning, bumpers good. I bought a 1960 off frame restored 2X4bbl this summer for $35000 so this doesn't seem to be quite so attractive of a price.
