Default National Drive Your Corvette To Work Day

Ladies & Gentlemen of The Forum, This Friday, June 26th is the day that is dedicated as "National Drive Your Corvette To Work Day". This is the 9th annual celebration (that definitely requires audience participation) to get those Corvettes out, new and old, and put them out on the road where they belong. This date is the closest Friday to June 30th when in 1953, the first Corvette rolled off the assembly line. Join all of your fibreglass sportscar bretherin by getting that car out, savin' the wave and most importantly, annoying your co-workers and marking up the office parking lot.

Personally, I am hoping that the Shriners have thier mini-Corvette go-karts on the road to thier jobs.

I do not work on Fridays, but I will drive by the shop and honk the horn. On second thought... perhaps a burnout would be more appropriate.

Will do! Friday is a short day at work, so leaving it in the parking lot for a bit is fine.

I'd like to drive the '64 to work, but my cheap Collector insurance restrictions don't allow for it...

So, I'll have to drive the '99 FRC like I do every day. I had a couple of traction control events this morning on the way - them roads get kinda slippery when you lay the power down in the wet. Somtimes I put it in competition mode for the commute so I can get some better wheelspin...

I remember this same date last year (the last Friday in June). In anticipation of the "NDYCTW" day I spent a bit 'o time getting the '66 shined up. On that Friday in Oklahoma City, it rained and I mean it really rained ! This year, the car is clean and if it rains or it's too hot out, I'm still pushin' gears and buzzin' the co-workers !

Unfortunately, I took the day off, and won't be able to drive it to work this Friday. Instead, I'll be driving mine 100+ miles to Famoso, race it and then driving another 100+ miles home.

Guess I'll just drive around aimlessly and make believe I'm going to work.

I'm with you, Tom. It's supposed to be over 100 all week here and the 66 has no A/C.

I had to take it to Auto Zone last Saturday (it was only 98) afternoon to pick up brake rotors for the daily driver. I almost passed out from the heat.

That's the spirit!

Today is an average work day in Vancouver:

It's not a C2, but I do like the a/c and big rain-friendly tires, comfy too...

Rain, snow, no problem, the car's seen plenty of both. Three hour daily commute in LA traffic??? ...do it once or twice a week. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. Then again, I'm just a driver and not an enthusiast.
