Tony, do you have a mid-year Corvette?
I have those kick panel speakers in my '65 and am satisfied.
They do two important things: play loud music and allow for use of the fresh air vents.
Would an audiophile stand up and salute? Probably not, but I have very loud sidepipes so they are good enough for me.
Using them in a '67 A-body (GTO) was very disappoinging because I could not use the fresh air vents. In the Corvette, the design is different and that is no problem.

Used them in a '66 Mustang's kick panels....they were OK but not great....wouldn't even consider them in my C1... A little too in-your-face in such a small cockpit...

In order to make good use of these you need to actually put 4x6 QUALITY speakers in and drive them with a separate amp. I'm in the process of upgrading my system by doing just that. Dennis

I have found the quality of these and other customautosound products to be substandard. They have a cheap made in China look. The plastic is hard and brittle and they don't fit all that well and definitely have a cheap look. The radios are also junk IMHO and look stupid with the digital display and incorrect midyear orientation.

I got the dual speaker for under the dash, and replaced them with high quality speakers... wasnt bad. I worried about the intrusion into the driver area, so havent got the kick panels... I have thought of fabricating custom door panels and fit some speakers there.

as far as intrusion....when you drop your foot from the clutch pedal, things get a little tight when you put your foot on the floor...but its ok..jmo....

OK, thanks everyone for your input. Ecklers and Corvette Central sell them, but each have a different speaker. Ecklers looks a lot cleaner.
However, I may just scratch the idea.

I just put a pair in my new 64 Restomod. There is a video on this forum someplace, but I'm not sure how to find it. I replaced the speakers with a pair of Polk Audio 4X6's, added a 10" Bazooka tube in the rear, 4 channel Alpine amp, and it kicks. I refinished the plastic, to get rid of the "plastic shine". For what they cost, you couldn't build a set of enclosures. I use the old speakers for paperweights. Good luck.
