Default Bumper Repair and Re-chroming in Va.

Can anyone recommend a source in in the Northern Va area for bumper repair and re-chroming? I don't mind driving a couple of hours either but I really don't want to find out that my cores are bad by spending a fortune in shipping. I would like to be able to show the company the bumpers. Thanks.

Roy,

You could try Hanlon Plating in Richmond. I've seen some bumpers done by them and they looked pretty good, but I haven't used them for bumpers.

Good luck on it.

Virginia Vettes in Williamsburg. Send yours in to Dick, have them re-plated and sent back.

Rich,

My brother brought them to Dick last fall but he told me (brother) that they don't repair them...just re-chrome. The price seems very good but mine need repairs.

Your brother is correct. Dick does/didn't get into the repair of core business. He only does re-chroming. I had to search for three cores as I only had one good one on my car when I started. I got lucky on the search.

I don't know who does actual repairs prior to re-chrome process.

Rob,

Thanks. From the site it looks like they do not repair either but I will check with them.

I may have to look for some cores...off to the C2 parts section

I took my c1 bumpers to Pauls Chrome in PA. They are over near Pittsburgh. They do repairs and took my wavey bumpers and made them like glass. they are show chrome. But also expect to pay for show chrome....about $400 or so per bumper.....
