Default Oil Leak question - oil pan/timing cover- new rebuild

I've been tracking down a small oil leak....just installed the original oil pan with a felpro (the 09T thinner one). We have an aftermarket chrome timing cover on from the engine rebuild. There is a small drip after running the engine coming over the gasket just where it hits the timing cover at the bottom.

So I'm guessing the timing cover has a higher curve than the oil pan? Has anyone else run into this with original pans and aftermarket covers? Could I maybe use the felpro "thicker" oil pan gasket (10T)?

thoughts......?

The aftermarket chrome Taiwan timing covers almost always leak; the curved lower sealing flange is usually mislocated, and it's spot-welded instead of a continuous roller-weld like the originals have. Add those issues to the difficulty of sealing against chrome, and you have leaks.
