Default correct Holley for a 1967 L79

I have a 67 coupe - with a Jan 67 L79, correct intake wrong carb.
What is the correct carb and does it have to be a Jan date?
There is a A.I.R California carb listed at Crane, but I do not understand the differences or can tell what to look for.
Zone 22 Dealer 151 - think this is a southern car KY, cant find dealer number, so its not a Ca car.

I can post the numbers on the Holley on it now, but it is definately not the correct one.

If someone has the correct carb I would WTB

Thanks

Correct Holley for 67 AIR emissions is R3814A. Carbs were installed at the assembly plant so a carb dated 6 months prior to the cars DOB would be correct. Typical date is 3- 5 weeks prior to assembly date.Something like a 6A3 or 6B1 date would be ideal.

Dealer numbers are in alphabetical order in each zone. Dealer 151 should start with the letter C in the southern KY area.

Non-A.I.R. 67's (both 300hp and 350hp) used a Holley 3810.

Current reproduction of the Holley #3810 is still available today. Made by Holley.....minor differences from original. If you are not concerned with numbers and dates, this is the one to buy. Available from a number of sources including "thepartsladi" on E-bay stores.

If you want a correct numbers match original, then be sure to get one from a reputable rebuilder or have someone "very good" rebuild it so that it will perform correctly. To many folks buy the numbers, but get a carb that won't run correctly. We can help with rebuilders names if you go this way.

You will be okay with a Oct, Nov, or Dec 1966 date, or an early Jan 1967 date. Check E-bay or Cranes Corvettes or Chicago Corvette for a good carb/core. Not certain a "restored" carb from Chicago Corvette will be trouble free.....may need more attention than they initially provided.

Proceed with caution when buying any 42 year old carb.

Default 3810 v R3814

Thanks for all the inputs, currently I am leaning towards numbers correct so I will look for a rebuilt 3810 in Carlisle.
However Larry you make an excellent point, I do like to drive the car so I think I will go for a new 3810 and will follow your ebay link.

Donald - looking at the Crane R3814 I just don't know what to look for other than numbers that indicate its an A.I.R. carb - is that all there is to it? the numbers? bottom line I need to get a 3810.

Also thanks for the information on the dealer zone numbers, so do I start a business search for dealers in southern Kentucky? How would I know they have the 151 number?

Would the GM number 3906635-OP indicate that a 3814 was original? and was such a carb used as late as 1971?
Thanks!
