Default Long lost 1962 Corvette

Hello,
Not sure where to start looking but I owned a 1962 Corvette back in my High School days (Newton N.J.) and sold it 1979? to a guy who claimed to live in Bloomfield N.J.area. Have never seen it again and would like to locate it. I have no motor vehicles paperwork or VIN. If you or any of your club members can help me out I would be grateful. It had poorly repaired damage to front driver side after a slight mishap while at the wheel. (I was only 17 when I did the work). I painted it metalflake maroon (had black under that). black interior w/cragar wheels on back and chrome reverse rims on front, junkyard 350 motor and original T-10. I guess we get sentimental as we age... I have photos of it from when I owned it if anyone wants them I wasnt sure how/if I could post them here but thanks to 62Jeff you can see them here...
Thanks

You can get pictures into your Corvette Forum post by doing the following:
1) Go to www.tinypic.com
2) Upload your photo
3) On the page that appears, copy the text that starts with

4) Paste that text into your Corvette Forum post, to link that photo.

That method works well, but your photos will drop off of TinyPic after a few months if they aren't accessed frequently.

A more permanent method is:
1) Go to www.photobucket.com
2) Create a free photobucket account
3) Create a photo album (not required, but you'll quickly find it's better to have different albums for different types of photos - such as one album for each car you are working on)
4) Upload your photos
5) Copy the text that starts with
6) Paste that text into your Corvette Forum post, to link that photo.

That's a neat hardtop. I haven't seen one like that before.

Some aftermarket top that was on the car when I bought it. Do not remember seeing any label. Sure does help ID ing the car tho!

Ask Mom & Dad who they insured you with at the time - company AND local agent; ever have an accident? Check Police Report on the accident; ever have serious mech or body service, check the dealer for an invoice.

Most likely the police report would only show the license plate, not the VIN.

Even WITH the VIN it's a tough search, I have been trying to track down my old '67 for years. Without a VIN you're looking for a needle in a haystack. But every once in a while somebody on here DOES find the one they are looking for so who knows.

I'd suggest bumping the thread up every year or two instead of waiting 9 years. Good luck!

BTW, you have a couple things in your favor. The oddball hardtop and the modified hood both set the car off from the average stock '62. While they may not still be on the car if it exists, at least they might trigger somebody's memory.

The hardtop looks to me like Parrish Plastics or Royal Coachman.

My '62 has a hood like that. But, it has a normal top (could have been changed). I bought it in mid 70's in Texas. It had multiple coats of paint when it was stripped, but was orginaly white.
I don't know any other history. Have you got any other clues?

There was a 62 (or 61) for sale on Long Island a month ago with a hardtop that looked like that. Maroon too. I think it also had a hood like your car as well. I spoke to the owner who said he bought it few years ago from a gentlemen who had it for a long time, not that it makes any difference. I still have his phone number if you want it.

Damn - wouldn't that be something if that's the car OP is looking for?
