Default 1966 4 speed Back up light switch picture?

Anyone have a picture of the back up light switch installed? Mine is completely gone. New parts are on order, but I have no idea of what it is supposed to look like installed.

TIA

Len

It looks like the photo below, and the installation is shown in the M20 section of your Assembly Manual.

I have searched the forum over and over for info on the backup light switch on my 65 4 spd with a hurst shifter. This picture is as close as I've come. The m20 section in the factory assembly manual I have does not show the switch. I'd want to know how the switch works and how to remove and replace it.

I had a new clutch and rear seal installed last week and now the backup lights are on all the time when the ignition is on - even in neutral. I am not sure if I already had this problem before they R&R'd the tranny.

This is a very old thread and you should start a new one for more attention. But a couple of things will cause the backup lamps to stay on all the time. The switch could be shorted, but the most likely is that the adjustment is off. The switch mounting plate has slotted holes that the bolts go through. You would loosen the bolts and rotate the switch so that the back up lights go off when taken out of neutral and come back on when put back in neutral. Make sure the linkage (a small rod) is still connected from the reverse lever on the transmission to the backup switch, they may have left it off or disconnected.

Here's a picture with Muncie shifter showing the rod I mentioned.

Thanks. The rod was missing.
