decoding rear end question
I'm selling my 66 conv and some asked for the rear end numbers. The stamped numbers are AO10465 which I assume is 3.70 gear built October 4th, 1965. But I also found a D306 number on it. Anyone have an idea about that?

Assuming that the "AO 10465" characters are stamped & that the "D306" is cast -- you might want to have another look, as it seems a digit or two might be off somewhere.
Your casting date "D306" is Apr 30, 1966.
The assembly date is typically ~4 to 12 weeks after the casting date & format is M DD YY.
What is the car's ***'y date? This may help with you with decoding.
