C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020
Never heard of it, and doubt that it would ever be economically feasable. That technology is very antiquated when compared to aftermarket and production systems of today. As far as cost goes, I'm sure it would be in the five figure range due manufacturing challenges. and low demand. Dennis

As John mentioned rebuilt/restored units are bringing a premium. But by NEW are you referring to something aftermarket/updated. You said "64 Reproduction" which would imply mechanical so doubtful but just in case.:
One option for $4200:
"Arizona Speed has developed a new small block injection system based on our very popular Superjet system. This system utilizes a custom manifold designed for early Corvettes and other applications with low hood lines."

Thanks for the info guys. If you read their blurb they just state "designed for early Corvettes and other applications with low hood lines" but they don't state after you change the heads or motor.
Still looks sweet IMHO.

Wow, you would think they would develop one for our heads. For that price I would even consider going this route versus spending 10K on a restored, finiky old style unit.
Cheers,

Don't hold your breath - most people these days want electronic fuel injection. The possibility of anyone making the huge investment necessary to duplicate the Rochester fuel injection unit is ZERO.

This sort of gets the "'look" except that the intake is on the front. I have no idea of the hood clearance.

you can buy for $600 a set of Edelbrock E-Tec heads completely assembled that fit a 327 that bolt up to a Vortec type manifold.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ED...9/?image=large
They have them with different cc chamber sizes so you may be able to get one that keeps the compression ratio similar.
If you are spending $5k for intake, then another $600 for a set of heads and $500 to $2000 for an ECM......the heads arent the problem....they are reasonable. it is the other costs that are going to add up.......dont forget the electric fuel pump, filter, etc etc

Take to a shop that thinks outside of the box and make the holes for a non vortex head. I have a similar one, a Jet Ram 350. Brought it to several machine shop and their response was... IMPOSSIBLE to make it fit. Then I found a good one, his response, LET ME SEE. And it is installed and running in my 56 Chevy.
